Home of Hope supports over 600 orphaned and vulnerable children, who either live in our village, live with extended family, or are at college or University.
You can help us support these children by sponsoring one or more children, by yourself or with family, classmates, colleagues and/or friends. You can sponsor a child in a number of ways:
- One off - giving an amount, e.g. to cover a child's textbooks for the year
- you can find the costs of things like stationery in our budget and accounts,
- here is a list of other things we need, or
- contact your local Partner for more information.
- Part sponsorship - give an amount weekly or monthly to contribute towards a child's upkeep. As a guide, it costs a minimum of about $USD60/month to raise a child at Home of Hope. But any amount you can give helps us.
- Full sponsorship - our target cost per child is about $USD100/month. This amount includes 'luxuries', like school shoes, new school uniforms before the old ones fall apart, building new accommodation, etc.
Depending on their ages, minimum costs of raising a child are approximately:
- Babies - $USD90/month. This includes formula and one caregiver for 4-6 children under 5 years old.
- Primary school - $USD50/month.
- Secondary school - $USD60/month.
- College - $USD200/month. This includes college tuition and boarding fees.
While funds raised from child sponsorship cover the costs of raising one child, those funds go into our general accounts and help all our children. To sponsor a child download the sponsorship form and follow the instructions.
Sponsors receive updates about each sponsored child at least once a year. We aim to update you more regularly, but this can be resource-intensive.
