Success Stories

Once they have finished their schooling, the orphans, now adults, must find employment. Armed with an education superior to that available to the most Malawians their age, Home of Hope has produced many success stories, just a few of which we'll share with you here. With your continued support, we can send continue sending more of our children on to bright futures.

Esther Mwale

Esther Mwale arrived at Home of Hope when she was in Standard 7. After graduating from primary school, we sent her to Mvera Girls Pvt. Christian Sec. School. However, her Form 4 results weren't good enough to gain admission to a Government College or University. Home of Hope sponsored her to study at one of the Govt Technical Colleges, where she studied secretarial skill for one semester. Her grades were good enough for admission to Nursing College. Esther is now a qualified nurse and works at Mchinji District Hospital. She was recently married; Rev. Chipeta was honoured to hand her to her husband as her 'father'. Her wedding was an historical occasion at Home of Hope. Esther is now a role model for our children, especially the girls.

Chisomo Chaduka

Chisomo Chaduka came to Home of Hope in Standard 8. He was gained admission to Robert Blake Sec. School, one of Malawi's national secondary schools. He graduated from secondary school with good grades. Unfortunately, he was unable to study at a Government College or University, as there are few Government Colleges and Universities in Malawi and entry to them is fiercely competitive. We sponsored Chisomo to attend the Government Technical College, where he worked hard to be admitted to, and eventually graduate from, the Malawi College of Accountancy with a Diploma in Accounting (ACCA). Chisomo beat fierce competition to be employed on Standard Bank, one of Malawi's top banks' graduate programme. He is currently a Human Resources Officer at Eco bank. Chisomo is another of our children's role models.

Margret Johaness

Margret arrived at the Home of Hope in Form 1. Her secondary school marks were excellent, gaining her admission to Bunda College, part of the University of Malawi. She graduated with good results and now teaches at Chitedze Secondary School, in Lilongwe. Rev. Chipeta again had the pleasure of handing Margret to her new husband as her 'father' when she was married. Margret is also a role model for our orphans.
