Equipping young Malawians

The Vocational Training Centre is the next stage in Home of Hope's vision for equipping orphans and other vulnerable children to lead independent lives to the full, by providing them with vocational skills to enable them to enter skilled employment, or set up businesses of their own.

The project is grand: constructing the prerequisite infrastructure, sourcing the tools and equipment essential to the courses and employing staff. It is a long-tem venture, so it's good to be able to see the progress that has been made over the past few years:

2015

In 2015 another large building - housing a carpentary and joinery workshop - was completed, made possible by financial support from the Dr Alan Powell Trust UK. Foundations are dug for many more and work is actively ongoing for staff accomodation. We also see the completion of another building donated by the Kalaria family.

2013

In 2013 we were able to see the first buildings for the Vocational Training Centre arise: one much completed and another not far behind...
